Ex- Doctor Faces Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

• 15 counts of sexual assault.
• 17 counts of penetrative assault.
• 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
• Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
• One count of attempted penetrative assault.
