Israelis have assembled around the country to remember the second anniversary since the Hamas-led attack on that fateful day in October 2023, as discussions proceeded in Egypt over an end to the war in the Gaza Strip.
The incident saw in excess of 1,200 people dead and 251 others taken away to Gaza as prisoners. It was the most deadliest day for Jews since the World War II.
Israel responded by launching a defensive operation in Gaza which has taken more than 67,000 people, as reported by the area's Hamas-administered health ministry. Its statistics are regarded as reliable by the United Nations and other international bodies.
"The violent enemies have hit us hard, but they have not broken us," the leader added on Tuesday.
He also pledged to "accomplish all the objectives of the war: the release of all the kidnapped, the destruction of the Hamas administration and the promise that Gaza will never again pose a danger to Israel".

The representative explained the morning session concluded without significant progress, due to disagreements over the suggested Israeli withdrawal maps from Gaza and over assurances Hamas wants to guarantee Israel does not recommence fighting after the initial stage of the arrangement.
He commented that the discussions are "difficult and have not yet deliver any major advancement," but pointed out that facilitators are working hard to narrow the differences between the conflicting groups.
In the city's public square that day, young Hagar - whose brother survived the attack on the gathering, where many attendees were killed and numerous more were abducted by Hamas militants - shared: "No place seems like home now and until all the hostages come back not a single person will have peace of mind."
"After we see everybody home again, we can breathe anew. Then we can begin to rebuild," she concluded.
In front of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence in the capital, people gathered to demonstrate their support for the loved ones of the captives. Israel reports forty-eight continue in confinement in Gaza, 20 of whom are considered to be living.

Opinion polls now regularly indicate that about the majority of Israelis prefer the hostilities to end in as payment for the freedom of the captives.
