Authorities issued a warning that Friday's heat posed an "elevated risk for heat illness" for those at risk. Their advice suggested:

Other locales that hit 90°F were Burbank, Woodland Hills, and Long Beach. Additionally, Santa Maria, Oxnard, Camarillo, and Westwood were expected to reach the upper eighties.
