Vinted Shoppers Voice Displeasure About Size Modifications

Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.

The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments without notifying all users about the change.

Digital Channels Backlash

Many shoppers and sellers are posting online claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification than originally posted as a result of the reclassification.

Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services.

The platform has recommended to check their listings and manually change the size when needed, which has left users frustrated.

Size Classification Changes

Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

User Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.

A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she said.

Required Changes

Charlotte Lunn, located in England, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated.

Service Background

The app has more than 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.

It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
